Alas,Alone. Devlog #1
Prototype v.1 :
the project just started :) so exciting!!!

This is the first prototype of my new game, Alas,Alone (temporary name)… Alas,Alone is heavily inspired by wolfenstein 3d, it also uses a very similar rendering technique: raycast rendering, this is the older, slower brother of a dda raycaster. Because we have really strong machines nowdays, using the faster algorithm barely affects the performance of the game.
The game will be openworld, hopefully full of secrets and dialogues.. this is yet to be decided! as for now - im focusing on polishing the movement, making art for the game and figuring enemies outtttt
talking about art, making art for this game has been really fun until now :3 i basically took photos of my hand holding a 1911 airsoft gun (fake gun) grayscaled it, downscaled it and corrected it.
here is the sprites for hipfiring shooting animation:
the main (special?) mechanic of the game will be the offhand, which will let the player use his special abilities. so far dash,heal and petrify are planned - there may be more in the future, its yet to be decided
this is meant to remain an opensource project, as i dont think i make games of such high quality to the point they are worth selling. when the first alpha release of the game happens, i will publish the code and project for the game :)
